Wooly for Ravelry App Reviews

Facebook???

Ive been using and loving Wooly for years. This morning I discover that I need to sign in using Facebook? I dont have and dont want Facebook. Theres no reason to log in with FB when we all have ravelry accounts ... thats why we are using the app. Wooly, as far as Im concerned, youve bricked your app.

Non facebook user

I just noticed that my app updated. Tried to take a look and it requires me to login with a facebook account. I am not a fan of facebook, nor do I own or ever will have an account. Too bad I wont be using this app. Remove the facebook requirement and Ill rate with more stars.

Why do I now need a Facebook account to access Ravelry via this app.

Before just being a member of Ravelry was enough, but no more. Sadly, that means no more Wooly for me.

Old features now locked behind a subscription

I went ahead with the Facebook login to see the changes in this update, and boy was I disappointed. They made the decision to take away the in-app photo editing and place that behind the subscription as well. Instead of being brought directly to the dash, youre now brought to the Discovery page of new patterns, a redundancy of Featured Patterns. The first one you can see for free, after that, you need to a premium account. But you can share them on Facebook! /sarcasm It is not worth $9.99 a year to see patterns that are on other websites like a knock off Pinterest. Or to upload photos from the app when I can already do it directly through the Rav site or through the #ravelry hashtag on Instagram.

Newest version - bug fixes?

I think a bigger bug has been created with the Facebook sign-on requirement. Im about ready to give up and delete this app. Its too bad because the early version was so useful.

This app is no longer accessible without Facebook.

This used to be my go-to knitting app, but the latest update requires a Facebook to log in, and I dont want a Facebook.

Argh. So sad to lose Wooly

Ive loved the Wooly app for years and find it super for adding project photos, actually its the only way Ive done that for the past year or so. So I was not happy to see that I can no longer use the app as it no requires a Facebook login. Sigh...... Ive never had a Facebook account and do not intend to ever start one. Do now I will have to figure out alternatives to Wooly. Off to purchase alternatives........

Premium Features that used to be FREE?!? No thank you!

Thanks Wooly, you go and make features that used to be free, like simply adding photos to our projects, and make that a premium feature that you need to pay a subscription for. No way, not me! Horrible idea for an app update. Uninstalling this app right now.

Why wooly, WHY?

Like everyone else, would use wooly to upload pictures to Rav. Projects. My mac is so old and slow, its so much easier to do on the iPhone. The best thing about this new update is the mammoth in the apps icon. And thats about it. Unsure why on earth theyd consider fb sign in AND you have to have a subscription to do the most basic of tasks. I get the idea that it would be easier to share projects and stuff on fb, but, I dont see Ravelers doing that unless they have a shop. So, basically, I get to remove this from my phone and I can use the new space for something better, like pictures of my awesome stuff...

Ridiculous

I used this app for years and found it frustrating. Frankly it barely worked and most of the time I couldnt believe I paid money for it. Now it expects has all the features I used behind a "premium" subscription and expects me to log in with Facebook. Im not paying a subscription for app features I already paid for when I bought the app. Im not giving them my Facebook so they can mine it for data to sell. Im done. It will be deleted.

Needs some fine-tuning

On my iPad, many menu items display one-off. For example, if I click on "my needles", I see my friends. If I click on "my friends", I see featured projects.

NO to FB login

My ravelry account has a different email than my FB, so what am I supposed to do with that? VERY disappointed with this update.

No longer able to use the app...

I used to utilize Wooly app a ton and liked the features they added; however with the latest update, it requires a login to Facebook. I dont have a Facebook account nor will I have one to use this app. I dont understand what that has to do with Ravelry. Im done. Deleting the app...

Disappointing

I had hoped the update would take care of the issue with having to use Facebook to log in. Ill be deleting this after years of using since I can no longer sin in.

So frustrating!!

Ive used those app off and on for years. With the latest update, it will only allow my to login with Facebook. My Facebook account isnt connected to my Ravens account and there is no way to access my account with all my details! Whats the point of a mobile app if I cant access my account! Gross! :( :( :(

Facebook login??? No way

This app had some utility for my on-the-go knitting but now it requires logging in with Facebook. Such nonsense - this app is dead to me until they reverse this decision.

Disappointed

I bought this app which I considered to be pricey a few years ago to upload pictures on my Ravelry account. There have been updates, but the new features added are limited and the existing problems are not fixed. When I pull up a project it says "needles used" or "yarn used"....which ones? Why has the camera never been updated? I see now there is a premium package for an annual fee, which really offers no worthy purpose other than to upgrade the one thing I bought this for in the first place. What I have been hoping for all along was ease of access to my projects and queue, better pattern searching abilities and an upgraded camera. I believe its heading in the right direction, however the fact that an annual fee is charged for something I already paid for, for features that should already be offered, is disappointing. I will continue to use this app for pictures and keep the Ravelry website pulled up on my browser for everything else. This app at this price, should offer more value.

Too much money

Its kind of ridiculous that this app costs money and then you have to pay more to get the full features. Otherwise this is a decent Ravelry app, but I can just as easily (and sometimes I prefer to) use the actual site through safari.

Dont subscribe!!

They havent worked out the glitches yet! You click on a link and it sends you to a completely different link. I tried contacting customer support and still havent gotten a response:( wish Id never invested 10 bucks in a subscription!!

Pricey app for very little

Not worth spending the $ on this app. Every time I use it I end up resorting to web browsers for searching ravelry patterns, my library, friends, have convos etc. every time. Many glitches as well. Looking forward to updates and maybe someday a better app. Would not have purchased if I knew there was a better ravelry app out there. Graphics are pretty tho.
