Wooly for Ravelry App Reviews

Crashing with iPhone 5C

I just bought the app for my iPhone 5C and the app will only open for one brief moment and then crash. The screen briefly reads “No internet connect” and then glitches out. Very disappointing.

My Ravelry on the go... Mostly awesome.

UPDATE; as of Jan 2015, the app looks flashy but doesnt do what I need it to do. It was my go to to load photos from my phone to Ravelry. Now when I try to add pics, I cant use full screen and it refuses to save the pictures. It just keeps spinning uselessly. -------- -----This app does everything that it claims and it does it well... smoothly cleanly and attractively well. I cant seem to save a project as completed and there are a few minor issues but it has been invaluable so far to me.

Feb 4/15 update only slightly improves app

Still gone is the fantastic photo editor that allowed you to rotate, crop, add text etc before uploading to ravelry through the app. This update seemingly only makes photo uploading a little easier at best. App is still a pale comparison to what it was before they broke it.

Very disappointing

This review is done after my first use of the app, so it may change after more uses. Im very disappointed by this app. I purchased it because I taught the new version would fix the bugs and the complaints mentioned in the other comments. But not really. First, we cannot add more than one picture at a time, which is annoying. Also, we cannot see or modified the information about the needles and yarns used in the projects, which is a problem for me. Secondly, we cannot see where the yarn in your stash is stocked. But, it is easier to see the information than when using the browser, so thats a positive point. Ill be using the app more in the next day to see if I can find more positive points.

Organized amazing

I love how easy it is to use Wooly, and how pictures instantly link to my Ravelry account! Ive never before been so organized with my projects, and so active on Ravelry since using Wooly. Thanks, Wooly!

Wooly

Coaches me through the steps to keep my projects up to date easily.

Want my money back!

Cant use the app as it crashes all time >.<

Awesome app

I love love love this app. Its very nice and clean in format, easy to use and very stable. The option to add photos moreover makes it even more worth the purchase The developers are also quick in getting back at the feedback and they listened to the feedbacks they received in their Ravelry group and many updates came in quickly.

Good- but could be better

Ive only just loaded the app, and I would have given it more stars if it hadnt crashed on me three times already. It looks like it would be a great app, they just need to figure out how to fix the bugs...

Really guys?

This app so far is nothing but a huge disappointment! Do not buy it under any circumstances! The developers need to release an update immediately. Anytime I click on my projects tab, the app crashes, and you cant even use 80% of the app since the features arent out for the iPhone version. Why even have the buttons if they arent out yet?!? Incredibly annoyed.

No needles!

After I updated this app, I can no longer access my needles. This makes me very unhappy. Ive used Wooly since it first came out, but I will be looking for another option unless they give back the same functionality this app had before the upgrade. I dont need big pictures of my projects--I need access to my Ravelry info!

Great App

I love the new updated 2.1.1 version. Its as close to Ravelry as you can get in an app. Its easy to navigate and the camera works again. This is the easiest way, IMO, to get a photo into a project on Ravelry. Thanks guys!!!

Big Let Down

I have had this app about 5 minutes and it has crashed 3 times - each time I try to look at "my stash". It also says "coming soon" when you try to access "new project" or "new stash". The description specifically states you can use it for accessing these items. You also cant search Ravelry - just your own stuff. Not really what was advertised. Very disappointed that I purchased this app.

Dont update! Crashes instantly.

I used to love wooly but since the last two updates it crashes instantly once I sign in. So sad, because its great when it works. I have gone through the proper channels and contacted the developer. Sadly, I have not gotten any response from them. I am running ios7 on an iPhone 4, so if you have a newer phone it might work. I would love to revise this with 5 stars but right now I paid for an app that crashes instantly!

WAS the best Ravelry App...

Ever since the update that removed all photo upload functionality, I have completely stopped using this App. They really should not have updated without having this function ready to go. Save your money until they bring this function back, everything that this app does you can do through Safari anyways.

Rotten!!

It opens sure, but if you click on, or do anything besides look at the start page, it closes. Boo!!!!

Quit promising and deliver

For a long time this app functioned well for me. Especially since I primarily used it for uploading iPhone photos of my projects and stash. November 2014 an update removed that functionality and provided nothing of substance other than an updated GUI. Now following resounding denouncements, we get an update that promises to fix what was ruined by the November update and what do we get? Random crashes. My project listing also includes those of my friends, more maddening misspellings (come on, guys!). No photo upload (dont believe the planted reviews here -- there is no photo upload!) and more lies about functionality in the sales description. I honestly dont know what was updated in this version because it is the same as the November "update". Ill reiterate what has been stated by so many. Please bring back the original, un-updated app!

how do I get a refund

I bought this app for my new IPad Air and tried to upload some stash (the reason I bought the app). Coming soon???!!! Ummm....thats not what it says in the description. Waste of money!

Prefer Old Functionality

I was using Wooly before the "upgrade". I liked the interface to my needles & hooks...helpful when in yarn store. I use Yarma for camera app so dont need that (not even seeing it in Wooly) functionality. Will c how long I keep/use Wooly.

Problems since update

I was so hopeful with the most recent update that was suppose to fix the issues from the November update. Unfortunately the update seemed to have only corrected some spelling mistakes and gives the illusion they fixed the photo upload issue...however the photos do not actually upload. Very very disappointed.
